Imagine this is your life… you get up every morning when you wake up, not to an alarm clock but when you’ve had enough rest. You let the dog (or the cat) out and put on a pot of coffee. There is no rush to get ready to go to work, so you get showered, dressed and eat your favorite breakfast at your leisure. Your morning routine might include preparing and having breakfast with your partner and/or children, getting the children off to school and a few household chores.
The phone rings and it’s a customer who wants to place an order, so you pull up their information, confirm it’s correct and take their order. It’s time to start your work day. You head into your office with a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage. First you check your schedule and to do list for the day. Next, you peruse your e-mails for anything urgent that needs a reply. You respond to several questions, a number of catalog requests and send a thank you to the customers who have placed orders. The phone rings again, it’s another customer who wants to place an order, you take their order and listen to their story.
Your week days are planned to get the most work accomplished in the quickest and easiest way possible thanks to the training and mentoring you’ve received. You rarely work on weekends. Today you planned to post an article to your blog, make some phone calls and do some other revenue generating activities so you get started on your blog post.
Once you are done your blog post you get ready to make a few phone calls, you pull out the files and start making calls, most of the calls were productive and you make note of who needs to be called back. Between calls, the phone rings and this time it’s someone requesting a catalog and business information, you take down their information and let them know when they can expect to receive it. You’ve already starting building a relationship with them and helped them discover how the business will be a good fit for them. Now, it’s almost time for lunch, and your (daughter, son, husband, wife) is joining you. It’s nice to be able to relax and enjoy your meal together.
After lunch you are back in your office, you check your e-mail again and respond to some more customers. You finish your copy writing and upload the updated and new files to your web sites. With your work completed you take a look at what you have planned to do for the remainder of the week. Tomorrow is an easy day as you are having lunch with a friend and you’ll also do some shopping and errands.
Since, you’ve finished the work you had on your to do list for the day you decide to spend a bit of time checking out the forum at your Mastermind group while you wait for one of your business associates to call for their mentoring session. You enjoy getting to know your business associates, helping them and watching them make progress in their own business. Their enthusiasm is contagious and you’ve formed some genuine friendships as well.
Later in the afternoon, your spouse and/or children arrive home from their daily pursuits, you check on dinner and then sit down together to chat about your day. Everyone pitches in to get dinner on the table and clean up afterwards. After dinner you go for a walk with your family, (or — insert your favorite activity here — ) it’s a beautiful evening, the air is fresh and the scenery is spectacular. It’s almost time for bed. You perform your evening routine, snuggle into bed, read for half an hour or so, turn out the light and drift off to sleep…
