A Picture Is Worth A 1000 Words.

by Melody on May 19, 2007

I just updated my blog theme so now you’ll see a random header image everytime you visit or go to a new page. I quickly cropped some photos that I had on my computer from our road trip; Arizon, California, Utah as well as from beautiful BC and uploaded them to my theme. I’ll probably change the header pictures later on, but I thought we might as well enjoy these for awhile.

A photo, a really good picture or image can add a lot to your web site or blog. A picture:

  • attracts interest
  • adds to or make the story more clear
  • tells a story on it’s own
  • adds color
  • breaks up the text

Personally, I like pretty, flowery, “girly” web sites but maybe those type of images wouldn’t portray the real message I’d like to convey to my visitors? That’s why I choose this theme for my professional blog.

Oh, by the way, do you need a new header for you blog? RS Designs is having a contest and Revka is giving away a free custom header! The contest runs between May 17-24, 2007 and the winners will be announced on May 25. To enter simply write a post about the contest and link to both of these blogs. (RS Designs and Mama’s Coffee Corner) Then sign the Mr. Linky. Good luck!

Are you wondering where to find good images? I’ve found some fantastic photos at the site featured below including the coin image above. Click the banner to browse around and you’ll see what I mean.

Hi! Thanks for participating in the contest. I wish you all the best.

I, too, love istockphoto. They have such a vast selection of images, and their prices are really reasonable. Your rotating headers are great, too.
