I’ve been having issues with this blog for a while, it’s been mysteriously out growing it’s disk space, very rapidly for totally unknown reasons to me. Actually, it’s one of the reasons I haven’t been posting much here. Finally I contacted my web host with my predicament. Did I mention I have a wonderful web host? After poking around for awhile she discovered something in wordpress is creating something called a core dump file in my wp-admin folder. These files are about 30MB each and there was a whole bunch of them, so they were taking up a lot of space. Okay so now I know what’s using up my space, next I’ll be trying to figure out what might be causing them, a plugin perhaps? If you have any ideas, please let me know. When I figure it out, I’ll be sure to post the solution here in case anyone else is having the same problem.
Other mysterious happenings, have you noticed the latest spam commenter’s tactics? I like to check through them to make sure no valid comments got caught by Akismet before I delete the spam and I just had to copy these ones:

Yes, I find the internet to useful too. I’m glad you found my web site, deleting your comments gives me something to do in the evenings when my hubs is hogging the tv!

Wow, that really did it! Deactivated a plugin to test commenting again.
Hey Melody, I did some more checking on this and think your host may have to help you further. It could be anything but from a few threads in support it seems like you may have hit a limit on PHP or something on the server is not being configured properly and is crashing. Thanks for sharing this experience. I switched to WordPress just recently and I had been having problems on photo uploading. I think I have to check on my plugins, too (although I don’t have any idea what they are!). Or I’ll contact the admin to be sure. Thanks for making me aware about plugins. I thought they’re all wonderful.
