I’m very pleased to meet you! If you haven’t guessed by now, my name is Melody Thacker and I’m the owner of this site. I’m very proud to be a direct sales consultant with a wonderful company called Watkins.
Taste and tradition, that’s what attracted me to the Watkins product line when I was re-introduced to it through a home party in 1986. I was thrilled to find the delicious gourmet foods and family remedies I’d been raised with. I can still remember the Watkins Man coming to visit our home as I grew up!
As a mom of four I wasn’t looking for a business venture when my friend suggested I become a Watkins associate. She suggested I join as a wholesale shopper since I was already hosting a party each year and purchasing so much for my family on top of the annual parties. Yes, even though I had been active in another direct sales company over the past 25 years, I really didn’t think of Watkins as an opportunity. How wrong I was! In the last eight years Watkins has brought me the most fulfillment and flexibility for my family.
Now I’m a second level manager and some may call me a “rising star” within the Watkins Company. It was incredible how quickly I was able to discover the wide range of marketing avenues that have made advancement attainable without taking away from my primary passions. I wanted to remain dedicated to my growing family and continue to pursue the charity work and hobbies I enjoy. Watkins has made that all possible.
I remain an avid volunteer with several organizations, despite my ever expanding business. I was able to contribute to the establishment of local community radio station; a station operated entirely by high school students and volunteers. I was even able to hold down an executive position on the station’s board of directors for several years as my Watkins business grew. Currently I volunteer my time as the President of our local Farmer’s Market. I have even expanded my volunteering to the online world, as a member of several work at home communities I offer support and advise to other small business owners.
I am now putting my energy and passion into developing a winning team, the Gold Team through Watkins. I find nothing is more rewarding than when I can walk new associates through the business and over any obstacle that might lay before them. I’ve just been thrilled to find a way to earn the income I want and now I feel driven to help other Associates with the same desire, to do the same.
I’ve been able to become a Watkins success story and my passion is helping people like you create a success story of your own.
